Building and inspection services

Our Building Inspectors are New Brunswick Certified Building Officials recognized by the New Brunswick Building Officials Association (NBBOA).

Our Building Inspectors offer the following services:

1. Provide advice to clients in:

   • Preparing applications for Houses & Smaller Residential Projects; and

   • Interpreting building regulations, including but not limited to building by-laws, provincial building regulations, and the National Building Code (NBC) of Canada.

2. Review building/development permit applications for compliance with building regulations.

3. Issue building/development permits.

4. Conduct inspections

   • Inspections are required for all construction to which the 2015 National Building Code applies. Mandatory inspections are required to be performed upon the completion of each phase of construction. Mandatory inspection requests can be submitted by calling the GMSRC Office at 506-778-5359 Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Voicemail messages will be checked daily for calls made outside this timeframe. A Building Inspector will contact the individual identified in the request to schedule a date and time for the mandatory inspection.
